The SMCo Thrift team takes a holistic approach, reviewing the metrics of your thrift operation and engaging in conversations with key stakeholders, to identify the key issues holding back the thrift operation. Too often we don’t know what we don’t know and a systematic analysis can uncover the strengths & weaknesses of the operation as well as the opportunities & threats of the current environment. With this knowledge in hand, the next steps can be identified to unlock value and move your thrift operation forward.
Remote Analysis & Evaluation
Capturing data at every level of the organization and then reviewing it regularly is the foundation of evaluating and troubleshooting. Numbers don’t lie. So, the first step is implementing ThriftTrac to capture detailed data at every point in the process – donation receiving, processing, retail, wholesale, and transportation.
We’ll set up ThriftTrac and add historical information supplied by you. Any missing metrics will be captured in real-time or through sampling. Together, these data points will be used to form a baseline of performance and identify opportunities for action.
The second step is one-on-one conversations with the SMCo Thrift team. Three scheduled calls to review the data and pick up the human perspective lead to a defined action plan to address the identified issues.
In the first call, we’ll share our observations, based on collected metrics and industry trends, and provide recommendations on next steps. The second call will consider observed changes in the metrics and obstacles identified during implementation of recommendations. The last scheduled call will clarify the next steps for continued improvements.
Starts at $1,500, including access to ThriftTrac Complete for up to three (3) locations and three (3) scheduled calls with the SMCo Thrift team over no more than 45 days.
On-site Review & Ongoing Coaching
While numbers don’t lie, a fully immersive visit of your thrift operation can reveal lots of information in a short amount of time. A SMCo Thrift team member will conduct an on-site review over the course of two days to assess current facilities, team composition, and process flow as well as interview key stakeholders. A full report will be delivered with observations and recommendations to jumpstart the process.
One-on-one coaching with the SMCo Thrift team is available following the delivery of the report. During regularly scheduled calls, the SMCo Thrift team will review metrics and gauge progress on the implementation of recommendations.
Starts at $3,000 for the two day on-site review, plus travel expenses. 50% of the cost of the on-site view may be credited towards ongoing one-on-one coaching, which starts at $1,500 per month, if initiated within 60 days.
